Andersen Cascade Impactor (ACI)

The cascade impactor is the instrument of choice for both regulators and

pharmacopoeias when measuring the APSD of inhaled drug products due

to some unique features. Cascade impactors separate a sample on the

basis of particle inertia (which is a function of velocity and aerodynamic

particle size) without the need to know either particle density or shape.
